Are you insured?

Yes, I have Contractors Liability Insurance and am covered under Workers’ Compensation for your protection.

Are you licensed and bonded?

The State of Ohio DOES NOT license residential contractors, however individual areas may require a license.  If your project is in an area that has licensing, such as Fairfield County, I can usually obtain one easily and provide a bond payable to your local building department.  Licking County does not require a license and there is no bonding entity in which to make payment.

Do you obtain the proper permits?

Yes, I always get a building permit when required.  Please advise me on your Home Owner’s Association requirements.

Do I need to sign a contract?

Yes, I provide very short, plain language contracts to eliminate misunderstandings.

Do you use subcontractors?

Two workers and I can perform 95% of your work. I rely on my network of locally trusted professionals when they can do it better or when a license (plumbing and electrical) is required.

The newspaper has another article about homeowners getting ripped off…

Local referrals have provided 100% of my business for over 13 years.  The vast majority (around 70%) has been repeat business.

Scheduling your project

The most important customer is the one that I am serving today that is why all start dates are projected.  Many factors can come into play to extend the estimated time-frames including being rained out, customer change of mind, other professionals (plumbers or material providers), etc.  I can assure you that you will have my undivided attention while on your job since I am now providing the same respect to my current customer.  For example, if I tear out a wall and unexpectedly find termite damage, I cannot pack up and leave this customer hanging.
